The Best Superfood Trail Mix



This is the only trail mix I eat. Yep, it's true. I just, somehow, found this perfect combination of sweet and nutty and richness! One day I just threw all my favorite pantry ingredients into a bag and ate it for a snack later and viola! I'm telling you: this stuff is addictive!!


Wondering why it's a superfood mix? Well, here you go.

Almonds: A "heart food" because they have lots of magnesium. Also rich in fiber, protein, vitamin E, calcium, magnesium, and potassium.

Walnuts: A "brain food" because they provide a number of neuroprotective compounds like vitamin E, folate, melatonin, omega-3 fats, and antioxidents. 

Cacao Nibs: An "antioxidant powerhouse" because of the flavonoids. Also has a huge serving of fiber (9g), one of the best dietary sources of magnesium, high in fiber, and high in potassium.

Raisins: A "daily basics" kind of food, because they provide a bit of everything! Most notably being iron, potassium, antibiotic, and antioxidant properties.

  • 1 part almonds
  • 1 part walnuts
  • 1 part raisins
  • 1/2 part raisins
Mix together and serve.
