2 Ingredient Vitamix Frozen Yogurt

Everyone has ice cream cravings. Well duh. But for me it's frozen yogurt. I need that sweet-smelling, light-tasting fun-ness of froyo! But I don't want to consume all that sugar and artificial stuff... So what am I to do?

Make some low calorie-high protein-zero sugar frozen yogurt of course!

This frozen yogurt is only 100 calories for a huge 1.25 cup serving, has 12 grams of protein, and supplies 50% of your daily calcium needs.

You know you want some.

2 Ingredient Vitamix Frozen Yogurt

  • 1 (5.3 oz) container Dannon Light & Fit Greek yogurt, or other yogurt of choice
  • about 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk

With an ice cube tray, scoop yogurt and pour almond milk into even cubes. I filled up one whole tray with 8 yogurt cubes and 6 almond milk cubes. Freeze the cubes. Once frozen, thaw a bit if you have a super powerful freezer, and blend on high in your Vitamix, making sure to use the tamper to push the cubes down. If the machine isn't moving anything around, just making noise, use a spatula to scrape the ingredients away from corners and into the middle. Blend until all the cubes are blended, but not any longer! It will get runny if you overblend. Scoop into a bowl with an ice cream scoop and put in the freezer for up to 20 minutes for a harder, ice cream-like texture if you wish.

Note: This recipe works best with a Vitamix blender, but if you use a Blendtec (which I've tried with this recipe) or any less-powerful blender, I suppose if you add more milk when you blend then you could make it work.
