Greek Yogurt Cones



 I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving! It'll be here in a mere few days, and you know what that means? Christmas music! It's started already in stores and on one random radio station I found... it's just not right. Of course, with the Christmas cheer comes cookies, candies, yummy smells, and cold weather. Cold weather does not equal ice cream, right? Right?! 


Wrong! Ice cream can be, and should be, eaten in all weather. Cuz, you know, it may be cold outside but it's warm everywhere else inside! This is one of my favorite snacks- yes, you heard me right. Not dessert, snack; because this isn't ice cream you see, it's Greek yogurt!


This idea was formed in my mind when doing the photo shoot for my previous recipe, Chocolate Pumpkin Oats Ice Cream. I used cake cones in the photo, and then took a look at the nutrition info out of curiosity. I was so surprised at what I found! Each cone was only 15 calories and contained 0g of everything (even sugar!) except sodium. The cones were made out of pretty much flour, water, and other preservatives.


So, of course, I started eating ice cream cones with Greek yogurt. And a miracle was formed: ice cream cones for any meal of the day!


Whether it's a breakfast delight or a yummy afternoon snack, these Greek yogurt cones are just as healthy as eating Greek yogurt, with only an extra 15 calories for the cone. *lick, lick*

Greek Yogurt Cones 


  • 1 6oz container flavored Greek yogurt of choice
  • 1 cake cone
Open your Greek yogurt and give it a stir. Put in the freezer for 30 minutes or so until you can just see some crystals/cracks on the top of the yogurt, but it's soft under that layer. Stir until the frozen chunks on top get evenly distributed and scoop with an ice cream scoop into cones.
